How do I determine which filename belongs to which column in my SQL schema? I am trying to load some very large tables (50M rows in one and 250M in another). I add 500K rows in my batch, during the batch after 87.5M rows the server crashes with no error. The client receives the error "Connection terminated". If the 2G column size has been hit I'll normalize the table more and convert to integer/smallint to save on space.

[MonetDB-users] COPY into data errors

Is there any way to configure Monet to display line numbers from the data file along with the error when performing a "COPY into" SQL command? e.g. COPY into mytable from 'E:/data/myfile.tab' using delimiters '\t','\n'; It is very time consuming to search the data file looking for the error cause.

I am not able to store times with greater precision than milliseconds. ===================== create table ttime2 ( t1 time, t2 time(3), t3 time(6) ); sql>insert into ttime2 more>values ('16:28:14.6411', '16:28:14.6411', '16:28:14.6411'); [ 1 ] sql>select * from ttime2; % sys.ttime2, sys.ttime2, sys.ttime2 # table_name % t1, t2, t3 # name % time, time, time # type % 8, 12, 15 # length [ 16:28:14, 16:28:14.641, 16:28:14.641000 ] ===================== Is this a display issue? It doesn't seem so because I have a primary key defined on another table and the "16:28:14.6411" time fails with a duplicate key.

[MonetDB-users] XQuery collection function only works on the first document

Hi All, I think i have found a bug (for MonetDB/XQuery) in the XQuery collection function. When using this function in combination with an XPath it only seem to work on the first document in a collection. For example: when trying the tutorial example (shown in http://monetdb.cwi.nl/projects/monetdb/XQuery/QuickTour/DOCMGT/index.html) "Opening All Documents in a Collection" i only get the author elements of the first inserted document (in my case bib.xml). I have tested this on the current release version (4.16.2) and the nightly build of 2007-03-16. Hope this helps to solve it, Greetings, Pepijn

It appears the maximum precision of the NUMERIC type is scale 8 for precision <=10 and then (scale+precision) <=18 for precision > 10. Is that correct? I'm running 64bit on windows, would another platform allow an increase in scale? e.g. create table tnum ( a numeric (10,5), a2 numeric (10,6), a3 numeric (10,7), a4 numeric (10,8), b numeric (11,5), b2 numeric (11,7), c numeric (12,2), c2 numeric (12,5), c3 numeric (12,6), d numeric (16,2), e numeric (17,0), e2 numeric (17,1), f numeric (18,0) );

I am trying to create a user with permission to create tables in a given schema. ========= create role my_owner; create schema mine authorization my_owner; create user hist with password 'my1' name 'historical data' schema "mine"; grant my_owner to hist; ========= I have tried : GRANT ALL on mine to hist; and GRANT ALL on mine to my_owner; and GRANT create table on mine to my_owner; and GRANT create table on mine to hist; all with no success.

How do you configure MonetDB to allow SQL connections from clients on computers separate from the server? On linux I used to do something like this: --dbinit="module(sql_server); sql_server_start(TRUE);" but that throws an error on Windows. i.e. I get this: C:\> netstat -na | grep 50000 TCP 127.0.0.1:50000 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING but I want: TCP 0.0.0.0:50000 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
