Sharding is a partitioning method, not a replication one. I am not sure MonetDB uses automation partitioning, I say not yet. 3- When a query is sent to the cluster, it is processed by one node just or distributed by several nodes? Depends of the conection, - When you conect using a multiplex funnel, the querie is multiplexed to all nodes included in the funnel - When your connection include several DB, the client makes round robin on each request to server, and thats a way of partitioning 4- Cluster is related to multiplex-funnel?
