[MonetDB-users] Monetdb and Hardy Heron

Hi, I noticed the release for Karmic Koala but none for Hardy Heron. Is it possible to install monetdb with hardy? Is there perhaps any wiki page in monetdb documentation which expplains steps? Looking forward to trying monetdb! Radek

There isn't any (anymore). You can try to install the karmic packages on hardy, probably they will work.

You can also add the monetdb ubuntu source repository to you apt configuration, 'apt-get source' the source packages and build binary packages for yourself. But this is maybe a little bit complicated.

Unfortunately no.
Looking forward to trying monetdb!
Currently I'm rebuilding the package deployment system, I'm planning to also support older versions (LTS for example) of debian/ubuntu. I don't know when this will be finished though. - gijs

Of course, there's always the option to build MonetDB from plain sources, i.e., get the "Super Source Tarball" from out download page at http://monetdb.cwi.nl/Download/ and use the included "monetdb-install.sh" script to build it (see `./monetdb-install.sh --help` for details). This requires a "reasonably" complete development enviroment, though, ... Stefan On Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 01:55:59PM +0100, Gijs Molenaar wrote:

Great, thanks for tips Stefan and Gijs. In the meantime I managed to find the centos box and installed monetdb there eventually (after some struggling). I will give it a try from the sources later. It seems to work great so far! Cheers, Radek On 9 February 2010 13:23, Stefan Manegold <Stefan.Manegold@cwi.nl> wrote:
